What we do with your details
Last updated 11 August 2026
The short version
Shiela's Kitchen is one person cooking lunch at home. We collect what we need to answer you and to cook for you safely, we keep it in our email and a spreadsheet, and we do not sell it or share it with anyone who isn't part of getting you to the table.
What the form collects
- Your name, email, and optionally a WhatsApp or Viber number — so we can reply and reach you on the day.
- The country you're travelling from — so we know which channels are actually bringing people, and nothing else.
- Your party size and the date you want.
- Allergies and dietary requirements. This is health information, and we ask for it because cooking seven courses for twelve people without it is unsafe. It is used to plan and cook your meal, it is seen only by the person cooking, and it is deleted once your lunch has happened.
- Anything you type in the notes box.
The mailing list is separate
The tick box for new dates is optional and starts unticked. You can ask about a seat without joining the list, and joining the list is not a condition of anything. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just reply and say stop.
Who else sees it
Only the services that make the site work: Vercel hosts the site, Cloudflare Turnstile filters spam on the form, and Resend delivers the emails. If you booked through Klook or Airbnb, that platform holds its own copy of your booking under its own privacy policy, which we don't control.
The site uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without tracking you between sites. That is why there is no cookie banner — there are no cookies to consent to.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't turn into a booking: about a year, in an inbox. Bookings: as long as we need them for our records. Dietary notes: deleted after your lunch. Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Email shiela@shielaskitchen.comand ask for a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. We'll do it. If you're in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you these rights formally; we'd do it anyway, because there isn't very much of it and it's yours.
